A numerical model is presented which shows the effects of the large scale solar magnetic field on the dynamic evolution of corotating solar wind streams which are in some aspects three-dimensional. The model is expressed in terms of nonlinear, polytropic, MHD equations, with dynamic structures considered to be in a frame corotating with the sun. Limiting conditions include a plasma composed of protons and electrons only, charge neutrality on any scale larger than Debye length, infinite electrical conductivity, and an isotropic pressure tensor. Characteristic disturbances propagate only in fast modes, while Alfven waves and slow modes have no corotating frame. Solutions are found for radial, meridional, and azimuthal momenta, the total mass involved, Maxwell's equation, and the total energy. It is concluded that no physical evidence exists for the presence of the three-dimensional structures, although two-dimensional models fail to explain some observed phenomena.
