After the initial establishment of one-fluid polytropic models as a theoretical basis for understanding the solar wind, a two-fluid model was formulated by Hartle and Sturrock (1968). The present investigation is concerned with the conduction of a brief formal analysis of the simple polytropic two-fluid solar wind model. The analysis is carried out to extend the current knowledge of fluid solar wind theory, although the model presented cannot, per se, well describe the real solar wind. It is suggested that a useful numerical experiment would be to attempt to reproduce the observed solar wind velocity and temperature profiles throughout the range from the sun to the orbit of the earth by adopting suitable piecewise-constant functional values for the parameters.
