The average root-mean-squares magnetic fields >Be< of 68 chemically peculiar stars are determined on the basis of own and published measurements for 10 open clusters and associations. The search for exponential dependence between the mean values >Be< for stars in clusters and their age t has resulted in the e-folding time τ ≈ (5 - 6)×108years and in the average initial value >Be<0 ≈ 1200 G. The ages for 71 CP stars of the galactic field with known >Be< are estimated. The magnetic field of massive CP stars (M > 5 M_sun;) is probably at an average 1.5 times larger than that of less massive ones (M_sun; < 5 M_sun;).
