Using observational data from the supernova service (State Astronomical Observatory and Asiago Observatory) a study was made of outbursts of supernovae of types 1 and 2 in galaxies of different morphological types, including a comparison of the spatial distribution of SN 1 and SN 2 in spiral galaxies. Analysis of the data for the period of approximately 1960 to 1983 indicates an absence of significant differences in the statistical characteristics of SN 1 and SN 2. The frequencies of their outbursts are identical in most spiral galaxies.
