A possible mechanism of fluctuations and quasi-periodic variations of intensity of solar radio noise storms is discussed. The mechanism is based on the development of relaxation oscillations of plasma parameters in adiabatic traps which are the coronal magnetic loops. The power of energetic particle sources in radio sources is estimated using the observed period of radio emission variations.
