New observations of the quasars TOL 1037-27 and 1038-27 at 1.6 Å resolution are presented, showing details of their rich and unusual absorption spectra. In the spectrum of TOL 1037-27 two strong C IV absorption lines seen previously at low resolution are shown to be complexes similar to the "associated complex" or "shell" systems seen in a small number of other QSOs. On the other hand the strongest absorption system in TOL 1038-27 is shown to be a broad trough, probably similar to those in BAL QSOs. Suggestions that the absorption systems in the two QSOs may be correlated, in spite of their large separation (17.9 arcmin), are not supported by the present data.
