The spectra of the two quasars TOL 1037-271 and TOL 1038-272 are examined. Several absorption systems are identified and discussed in the context of intrinsic absorption, intervening-galaxy absorption and superclustering. It is suggested that the four absorption systems common to the two quasars within ±2000 km s-1 may be chance coincidences.
