The latitude of the ionospheric projection of the boundary between closed and open geomagnetic field lines is calculated in the framework of Pudovkin's (1981, 1984) model of solar-wind flow past the magnetosphere with the formation of a stagnation line. The calculation results are compared with experimental data on the location of the polar cusp.
