In this review the authors outline the theory of MHD waves in a
magnetically structured atmosphere. Applications of the theory are made
to intense magnetic flux tubes and their solitons, to rapid oscillations
in the corona, to spicules, and to running penumbral waves. A brief
application to helioseismology is also made.
