Plasma quantities like electron temperature and density as well as ion temperature were measured in-situ and from the ground. With incoherent scatter measurements the general geophysical conditions prevailing during the flight were explored. Enhanced electron densities as well as Joule heating indicate the presence of an auroral arc. The electron temperature data obtained with the rocket-borne retarding potential analyzer show a lot of structure and agree well with the results of an RF Langmuir probe. The electron temperatures increases strongly above the arc and shows anisotropy with respect to the magnetic field direction. Estimates of the flux of suprathermal electrons are discussed.
