Forms of velocity fields associated with different force-free magnetic field configurations are studied analytically. Equations relating velocity fields which preserve force-free magnetic fields to a constant scalar function, alpha, are derived, including explicit expressions for the velocity fields preserving cylindrically symmetric force-free magnetic fields which are significant in astrophysics and controlled thermonuclear fusion. The equations are compared with those describing the hydrodynamics of Beltrami flows.
