HD100546 is a 10 Myr old Herbig Be star at a distance of about 100 pc. It has a several hundred AU radius disk, of which the IR spectrum indicates a high abundance of crystalline silicates. Together with this signature of highly processed material, there is accompanying evidence for a system of one or more planets orbiting the star, such as an inner gap at less than about 10 AU and spiral structure at around 250 AU. The origin and maintenance of the spiral structure is unclear, but could be due to warps casting a shadow on the outer disk, or zones cleared of material. The disk is bright in the millimeter, approximately 50 Jy at 3.4 mm, so its relative proximity makes it an ideal candidate to resolve structure in the disk, and thereby use HD100546 as a laboratory for the study of planetary system evolution. We will therefore use ATCA to image the disk at 3 mm at a spatial resolution of 50 AU in order to resolve principally the spiral structure, and determine if they are a result of disk warping or clearing by planet mass bodies.
