Calculations of the departure coefficients have been performed for atomic levels from 50 to 285 at temperatures of 10, 20, 100, 1000 K and densities from .001 to 1000 per cu cm found to occur in H I regions, and in the presence of a radiofrequency continuum due to bremsstrahlung. I have included hitherto neglected delta-n greater than 1 radiatively induced transitions in the equilibrium equations. The results are compared with those from previous calculations. Applying the results to Orion A, I find that the ratio of the alpha to beta line intensities greatly reduces the lower limit on the range of densities permitted in the H I region from that previously believed.
