Absorption of features on umbral spectrograms, which have been identified as abnormally strong and magnetically broadened Cr II and Fe II lines, are investigated. The profile of the 5313.585 A line is illustrated. No net polarization effect or indication of an ionization anomaly is found. It is concluded that the features consist of umbral molecular lines and stray photospheric light.
