Spectral Absorption By Atmospheric Gases

Scientific paper

The isotopic ratio of carbon in atmospheric carbondioxide has been measured with the portable low-resolution GASMET™ FTIR spectrometer. The measured spectra have been analyzed with the Multicomponent analysis software provided with the instrument. The aim of the work has been to investigate how good a precision can be obtained. We have achieved a statistical uncertainty of 0.07% in the isotopic ratio. There is potential to further increase the precision of the method.
