Bright, persistent white light coronal structures make multiple limb passages. Limb timings suggest differential motions of large magnetic structures that may be an important source of energy for solar wind expansion. Autocorrelation functions of pB time series show distinctive shapes that vary with solar latitude and time. In an observational study I survey this variability over 1996-2005, from equator to pole. While the peak at 27 days generally dominates the recurrence pattern, equatorial and polar latitudes can show substantial recurrence at 27/2 and 27/3 days. Selected intervals showing this harmonic behavior are examined. The causes of recurrence patterns are explored by comparing pB with UV and other observations. These comparisons address the question of WHAT is being measured when the differential rotation of the white light corona is determined experimentally. The author gratefully acknowledges support from NASA Vt-EPSCoR and the Eppley Foundation for Research.
