The variability of the optical energy distributions of magnetic CP stars are investigated using indices based on fitting pseudo-continua through those magnitudes least affected by the photometric peculiarities of these stars. Examples of variability consistent with that previously found using other colors and indices are presented. The performance of the indices is evaluated by the examination of the feature profiles as measured by spectrophotometry.
