The properties of photoacoustic waves generated outside acoustically reflecting boundaries can be found using Green's function solutions to the wave equation for pressure. Here, Green's functions are used to calculate the time profiles of photoacoustic waves generated in the fluid surrounding an incompressible sphere with a vanishing thermal expansivity. The Green's function method is also applied to determination of the properties of the photoacoustic wave generated in the atmosphere of a planet caused by rotation of the planet in the radiation emitted by the sun.
