We investigate the effects of non-thermal bulk motions within Lyalpha
forest clouds on some observationally derived statistics of these
clouds. We study the implications for the distribution functions in H I
column density (N) and velocity dispersion (sigma ) for the clouds. We
also address the issue of correlations between N and sigma .
