The USNO UJ1.0 star catalog (Monet et. al., this conference) is in the final stages of production. In addition to astrometric calibration and star/nonstar classification, we are placing each plate onto a native J magnitude system. Transformations for standard stars from the Johnson BVR system onto the J system have been theoretically determined. Published BVR reference stars as well as new photometry with the USNO 1.0m telescope are being used. Strip scans with the USNO 0.20m telescope in conjunction with the Schmidt theoretical vignetting function are used to help remove the telescope and plate signatures from the data. This paper discusses the data sets necessary for the photometric calibration and our initial results and expected accuracy for the catalog.
