Clusters Of Galaxies: Quasars

Scientific paper

Using the new version of the Hewitt-Burbidge QSO Catalogue and the all-sky catalogue of Abell clusters (ACO, 1989), the author analyses the cross correlation function of QSOs and different types of Abell clusters and find different features between them. Application of the K-S Test shows that the QSOs which correlated (or anticorrelated) with the clusters are really different from the whole QSO sample in magnitude/redshift distribution. This indicates that the association between them is real and not caused by the projection effect. Further calculation yields an enhancement factor of QSO density around D ≤ 4 clusters as q = 1.089, and the extinction magnitude of QSO deficiency (for R ≥ 2 clusters) as AB = 0.09.
