The open cluster NGC 5606 has been investigated using broad band UBVRI photoelectric photometry. The cluster is small and faint with a few star memberships. A mean color excess of 0.51 was found in the cluster region, and the fitting method yields a distance modulus of V0 - MV = 11.60. From the cluster 'turn-off' point and the fitting of an isochrone with core overshooting, an age of (6.5 + or - 1.5) x 10 to the 6th yr was obtained for NGC 5606
