The reddening of the Magellanic Clouds is reexamined. The galactic
foreground reddenings of the SMC and most of the LMC are quite similar
with a value of at least E(B-V)=0.05. The average reddenings within the
Clouds are similarly high, although there are more regions in the LMC
with higher than average extinction.
