The paper provides the solar motion elements derived from the radial velocities of 5800 stars from the 'Bright Star Catalogue'. It is shown that the elements derived from different subsets present a large scatter, which is almost exclusively due to intrinsic scatter. The dispersion of the peculiar radial velocity components increases systematically with age beyond log t = 9.0. A relation between the solar velocity components and spectral types is suggested for dwarf stars.
