PSR J2021+4026 is the second brightest radio-quiet gamma-ray pulsar which is suggested to be the long-sought compact object associated with the supernova remnant gamma-Cygni. Its radio-quietness and its multiwavelength properties suggest its nature to be similar to a well-known pulsar: Geminga. In order to tightly constrain the nature of its X-ray counterpart, we propose a deep XMM-Newton observation with an aim to search for its X-ray pulsations and perform a detailed spectro-imaging analysis.
