Nova, V5583 Sgr, N Sgr 2009 No. 3, Aavso International Database

V5583 Sgr (Nova Sgr 2009 No. 3) was independently discovered by Koichi Nishiyama, Kurume, Fukuoka-ken, Japan, and Fujio Kabashima, Miyaki-cho, Saga-ken, Japan, at unfiltered CCD magnitude 7.7 on August 6.494 UT, and by Grzegorz Pojmanski, Dorota Szczygiel, and Bogumil Pilecki, Warsaw University Astronomical Observatory, observed by ASAS3 at 7.78V on Aug. 6.182 UT. Coordinates from Nishiyama and Kabashima are 18:07:07.67 -33:46:33.9 (2000.0), from Pojmanski et al. 18:07:08 -33:46.6 (2000.0). It was confirmed optically by Nishiyama and Kabashima on Aug. 6.494 UT, and by Leonid Elenin, Moscow, and spectroscopically by Mitsugu Fujii, Fujii Bisei Observatory, Okayama, Japan, on Aug. 7.60 UT, and by Akira Arai et al. on Aug. 7.63 UT. V5583 Sgr (name assigned August 17 by the GCVS team, Moscow, after this Alert Notice was issued) has been assigned the name VSX J180707.6-334633 with the AUID 000-BJP-536. Observations should be reported to the AAVSO International Database as V5583!
