We report the detection of a new X-ray outburst of the recurrent X-ray transient and black-hole candidate 4U 1630-47. The All Sky Monitor aboard the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer began detecting the source on or near 2002 September 10, when it rapidly rose to 0.3-0.4 Crab (2-12 keV) on 2002 September 13. This renewed activity of 4U 1630-47 follows its last outburst which started in 2000 November and lasted until 2001 June.
