The present statistical analysis of Birch's (1982) data, on the basis of which a universal vorticity has been suggested, exhibits no sign of twist asymmetry in either the primary measure of maps of 30 sources or the secondary measure of the direction in which the average polarization vector is rotated from the source axis in a sample of 132 sources. While a dipolar distribution of radio source twists in the first measure could be construed as direct evidence for a universal vorticity of intergalactic media, source-averaged polarization does not appear to have any simple physical interpretation.
