The paper describes the development and use of a solid state TV system. The camera has a resolution of 128 by 128 picture elements (pixels). It is coupled via relay lenses to a second generation microchannel plate image intensifier. The camera control unit allows the operator to select a variable readout rate to accomodate a wide variety of integration times and also contains an 8 bit analog to digital converter and a computer interface.
