Image processing of heretofore unpublished plates obtained with the Kitt Peak National Observatory 4 m and Hale 5 m reflectors reveals that a luminous connection does exist between the galaxy NGC 4319 and the higher redshift object Markarian 205. Analysis of the images rules out the possibility that the feature has an origin in overlapping isophotes between the two objects. Further, there is no evidence that a background galaxy falls between the two objects and thereby produces or enhances the connection. High pass filtering of the images shows that the connection can be traced into the nuclear regions of NGC 4319. The observational material presented here represents the most conclusive evidence to date in support of a physical link between objects with significantly different redshift.
