Reanalysis of the Butcher-Oemler data shows that 3C 295 contains no blue galaxies with V-R < 1.0. From the quoted observational errors of the Butcher-Oemler colors it is found that the nine intermediate color cluster galaxies are probably red (V-R = 1.5) objects in the blue wing of the Gaussian error curve. The cluster surrounding 3C 295 belongs to Abell richness class 0 and has R1/2 ≈ 26arcsec5. The magnitude difference F1-F(0) is found to be typical for that of clusters of Bautz-Morgan class I or I-II. This constitutes weak evidence against the hypothesis that the cluster containing 3C 295 has collapsed very recently.
