Medium resolution spectroscopy and intermediate band photometry of the Orion population star LkH-alpha 324 have been obtained. These observations indicate a constant spectral type of late A to F7, a stellar luminosity of about 34 solar luminosities, and a stellar radius of about 5 plus or minus 1 solar radii, and seem to imply that the star is an emission line pre-main sequence star of about 2.3 solar masses on a radiative equlibrium track. The energy distribution of LkH-alpha 324 resembles that of an F7 star with a mild near excess which seems most likely to be due to relatively hot circumstellar dust. The conflicting spectral type listed in the Herbig-Rao catalogue was probably caused by a mixup of this star with a nearby companion which is fainter but has a stronger emission line spectrum. Other reported discrepant spectroscopic results remain unexplained.
