The LMC H II region N 11 is investigated using high-resolution narrow bandwidth photographs centered at H-beta and forbidden O III wavelength 5007. The observational methods are briefly stated and the morphology and excitation of N 11 B is discussed. Although a large number of stars are visible on the face of N 11 B, the main exciting sources are hidden at optical wavelengths. The presence of two or three compact blobs as well as two small diffuse nebulosities is shown. One of the compact objects is a high-excitation blob of 12 arcsec diameter consisting of two components, very similar to the object recently detected in N 159. The Wolf-Rayet multiple system HD 32228 is examined, and the presence of a hitherto unknown component is shown.
