The long-period behavior of the asteroids in the 3:2 and 2:1 resonances with Jupiter is investigated, in the framework of the spatial Sun-asteroid-Jupiter model, by numerical integration with application of a low-pass filter. The resonance region of low-to-moderate eccentricities was explored by systematic variation of initial conditions. The main oscillations related to the three independent modes of motion are studied by Fourier analysis methods. The secondary resonances leading to the appearance of chaotic layers are determined. Several zones of regular and chaotic motion in the (a_0_,e_0_,I_0_)-space of each resonance are distinguished. The results of numerical simulations are compared to the observed distribution of the real asteroids in the 3:2 and 2:1 resonances.
