The equivalent width of the line U II λ3859.58 Å has been used to determine the uranium abundance in the atmosphere of the Sr-Cr-Eu star β CrB; according to the authors' estimate log ɛ(U) = 3.4. The authors have not been able to confirm that details they identified in spectrograms in the region λλ8440 - 8450 Å obtained with a CCD camera are U I lines. Using observational data published by Adelman (1973), the authors have estimated the abundances of 20 elements in the β CrB atmosphere with allowance for the influence of the companion star on the spectrum.
