The projective unified field theory developed by Schmutzer (1990) is applied to the astrophysically interesting case of a static spherically symmetric matter distribution (e.g., a star, neutron star, or other starlike object). The basic four-dimensional equations for an electrically neutral object are derived; their specialization to the case in question is outlined; and particular attention is given to the exterior solution in isotropic coordinates, an analytical approach to the interior solution, and the first steps of a numerical integration based on the resulting system of seven differential equations.
