The frequency-protection problem for radio astronomy is discussed. Data are provided on the sensitivity of typical line measurements and the flux density causing harmful interference, and the frequencies allocated exclusively for radio astronomy or protected for use by radio astronomy are given. Spaceborne and airborne allocations adjacent to exclusive radio astronomy bands are summarized.
