An analysis of 639 redshifts is presented in order to evaluate whether they exhibit selection effects for different values of peak width. One selection effect is due to data indicating the presence of more QSOs at redshift intervals where more search lines are available for redshift measurement. The second selection effect is due to the color changes of the objects observed as the QSO emission lines enter the UBV filters. This causes some QSOs to be incorrectly identified. The analysis indicates that the two selection effects are present in the redshift distribution of the 639 redshifts.
