In the present paper, the precision criterion in the determination of the angular position of a satellite is treated as the spacing between two orthogonal matrices. Approximate expressions for this criterion are obtained in the case of small angle-determination errors. In the stochastic case, the lower bound of the spacing between the matrices is determined on the basis of the Rao-Kramer inequality. It is shown that for a multivector measurement system, the lower bound is independent of the parameters being evaluated and that it depends only on the statistical properties of the measurement errors and the mutual position of the vectors being measured.
