The kinetic equation describing cosmic-ray propagation in the magnetized solar-wind plasma is used to construct a system of equations for the diffusion approximation which take into account the second spherical harmonic in the cosmic-ray distribution. The kinetic equation employed takes into account the interaction of charged particles with the stochastic magnetic fields in interplanetary space. An expression is obtained for the case where the Larmor radius of a particle in the regular magnetic field is large in comparison with the correlation radius of the (statistically isotropic) stochastic field, and particle diffusion is anisotropic. The limiting case of a weak regular magnetic field is also considered where the Larmor radius of a particle is much greater than the transport mean free path of the particle, and diffusion becomes isotropic. Finally, the opposite limiting case of a strong regular magnetic field where the particle Larmor radius is much smaller than the transport mean free path is examined.
