Maps of the extended radio galaxy NGC 6251 have been made with the
Westerbork telescope at 610 MHz. The northwest lobe is very highly
polarized, with degrees of linear polarization up to 70%. The lack of
Faraday depolarization implies a very low internal thermal electron
density. The radio jet is also polarized, but more weakly.
