A data base consisting of 4624 galaxies listed in the Uppsala General Catalog of Galaxies now has measured redshifts. To search for differences in the large-scale clustering properties of galaxies as a function of their surface brightness (SB), the authors subdivide the UGC into three SB regimes and examine the all-sky redshift distributions in cells of width 10° in declination and length 4h in right ascension. The main result from this investigation is that velocity voids which are apparent in the redshift distributions of high-SB galaxies are not filled in by low-SB galaxies. In general, the voids are just as conspicuous in the low-SB galaxy redshift distribution. In particular, the velocity void between Coma and Virgo is maintained at all levels of SB. This, in fact, lends credibility to the very existence of these velocity voids; that is, they are probably not artifacts of any observational selection effects.
