Realms of scientific inquest toward which the capabilities of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) will be directed are outlined. The instrument will permit mapping stellar distributions in globular cluster cores, dim main sequence stars and horizontal branch stars. The HST will also furnish galactic rotational velocity data and help decide if low mass stars or large planets can account for the missing matter in the Universe. Seyfert and BL Lacertae type objects can be scanned to further characterize the driving force causing the strong luminosities of these objects. The value of the Hubble parameter will be further honed, more features of the large-scale structure of the Universe will be revealed, and redshift cutoffs may be found for quasars.
