Deep Impact encountered comet 9P/Tempel 1 on July 4th and observed it with several instruments. In particular, we obtained infrared spectra of the nucleus with the IR spectrometer in the wavelength range 1-5 micron. From these spectrum, we derived the temperature map of the nucleus, before impact, with a resolution of 100m per pixels at time of observation. Here we present the resulting temperature map and its implications for the surface thermal properties of the nucleus.
