We present Spitzer IRAC and MIPS, as well as deep, large-field NIR observations of several Class 0 and I sources located within the L1448 dark cloud. Deep IRAC imaging reveals cavities in the circumstellar envelopes of the Class 0 sources carved out by the powerful molecular outflows associated with low-mass star formation. In the cavity, light emitted by the protostar escapes and is revealed by scattering off dust present in the outflow cavity. Of the numerous outflow cavities observed, very similar morphology is detected in the NIR wavelengths as compared to the IRAC wavelengths. The scattered light in the cavity is most prominent in the 3.6 micron IRAC channel and K-band. The scattered light in the cavity produces a fan shaped appearance whose orientation coincides with the direction of observed molecular outflows. In addition, our observations have revealed the source of the outflow near L1448 IRS2 that was previously undetected.
