The ionization structure in H, He, O, and N is calculated for a dusty "blister" assuming an exponential density gradient and a model-atmosphere ionizing spectrum with an effective temperature of 50,000K as given by Kurucz (1979). Charge exchange reactions are taken into account as are recent dielectronic recombination rates for the O and N ions. The 52 μm and 88 μm line intensities of [O III] and the 57 μm line intensity of [N III] are calculated for viewing angles from 0° to 90°. The far-infrared line intensities are found to closely co-vary with the radio free-free emission, although they peak at a slightly closer distance to the ionizing source (for a viewing angle ≠0°). The electron density as derived from the 52 μm/88 μm line ratio is found to be up to a factor of three higher than the rms density derived from a radio measurement.
