The published observational data on light variations in EW Sct (Bakos, 1950 and Eggen, 1973) are subjected to frequency analysis using a Fourier technique and phase-dispersion minimization with bin structure (5,1). The results are presented in tables and graphs and discussed. Two periods, of 5.8195 + or - 0.0005 and 4.0646 + or - 0.0003 days, are identified, with a corresponding period ratio of 0.6984 + or 0.0001. EW Sct is classified as a double-mode cepheid with a stable period over a 30-yr period, mass 2.7 solar mass, and radius 36.4 solar radii.
