In addition to studying GRBs, Swift has also begun studying supernovae during its first year in orbit. The main focus has been to use Swift's Ultra-Violet/Optical Telescope to produce light curves in six bands (spanning 2000-6000 Angstroms) as well as grism spectroscopy. In addition, Swift's X-Ray Telescope is observing the 0.5-10 keV range at the same time. We will present results of our 2005 observations as well as the characteristics desirable in SNe to be observed by Swift.
