In this paper, I give a summary of the recent results obtained with
AMBER on spectro-interferometric observations of Herbig Ae/Be stars.
This summary is not exhaustive but representative of the unique
capabilities of AMBER to probe the hot circumstellar gas, in addition to
the usually observed dust near-infrared thermal emission.
