The SIM PlanetQuest narrow-angle error budget contains a geometric multiplier to account for the error in the measurement of the target star position due to non-ideal positions of the reference stars with respect to the target star. In this report, we use a list of actual target and reference stars from the SIM planet search Key Projects to estimate this multiplier.
This work was carried out at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, under contract with NASA.
